FM: I used to talk about the social nature of the gift. See, the gifts, God's gifts, are given to us not for ourselves. No! They're entrusted to us for everybody. And the human person, when he engages himself or herself in the delivering or the giving of himself through his gift, he matures and grows. There's something that happens to the human person when he or she is involved in giving himself to others, you see? And so these gifts are invitations to go out, invitations to give [of] yourself.
