Joys of Québec | Bowing Down Home

About this tune

As was the case for numerous tunes of Québecois origin, Joys of Québec originally entered the Island repertoire via broadcasts during the 1930s and 40s from radio station CHNC, New Carisle, Québec. Probably the best known tune that came to PEI in this fashion was Ste. Anne’s Reel.

Later on, the tune was recorded by Don Messer and the Islanders.
