About this tune

"Lord Seaforth" was originally a strathspey, then later converted to reel format and tempo. It first appears in print in the early 19th century; among the well-known Scottish collections where it is featured are The Gow Repository, The Athole Collection, and The Skye Collection. Notation for the version played here by Sterling Baker is in The Fiddle Music of Prince Edward Island.
