About this tune

This tune may well be a "hybrid." The "low turn" is very close to that of "Grand Valley Reel" by Cec MacEachern, and the "high turn" is very close to that of "The Western Gem," a tune that appears in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (aka 1000 Fiddle Tunes). The title "Sidney Baglole's Reel" was assigned to the tune by the author. Notation for the version played here is in The Fiddle Music of Prince Edward Island.
