Great Uncle Charlie? | Bowing Down Home
JG – John Gauthier
JG: I was playing to the wedding, this was about 1946 or 47, of a cousin of mine in Rustico. I took a break, and went inside - They had built a stage out in the farm yard. I went in and sat down with a plate full of little sandwiches and sat beside this elderly gentleman. He said, “What's your name?” I told him. He said, “What's your father's name?” “Grandfather's name?” “Oh yes.” He said,“You had a great uncle Charlie who was a fiddler,” and he said, “I could have sworn it was him playin' out there.” Believe what you like. I didn't even know I had a great uncle Charlie.
